1920 Lyon & Healy Curved Soprano Saxophone - Silverplate
This 105 year old petite curved soprano saxophone is an American made Buescher stencil engraved with Lyon & Healy - engraving is gorgeous and sharp. Because it doesn’t have many guards, it is the lightest and smallest looking and feeling soprano I’ve ever seen. Many players double take and think it must be a sopranino! It’s definitely a soprano and it’s low pitch.
It has been overhauled by Rob Davidson at Sax Alive and setup meticulously. Rob has carefully reshaped a pull down on the curved neck and expertly installed a solid silver bar support to give reinforcement.
This soprano has a beautiful tone, typical of early Bueschers, it’s a pleasure to play. There are a few intonation quirks which have been considered in the setup of this horn, so the bell keys are raised to help accommodate this.
It is sold with a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
It comes in its original wooden case in ok condition, however it is recommended to get a more protective case for its safety. I can help in finding something perfect and providing at a discounted rate.
I have a large range of vintage mouthpieces to pair with this horn also. You are welcome to come and try them.
** There is an almost identical horn being sold in France for over $3300.
