1950s Couesnon & Cie Paris Bb Soprano Saxophone

1950s Couesnon & Cie Paris Bb Soprano Saxophone

A very rare and great condition Couesnon Paris Bb Sopranos Saxophone. This is a silverplated horn with approx 70% still intact. Most of the plating wear is on the RH keys and bell.

This is a wonderful playing instrument with a lovely rich tone throughout and excellent tuning also. These are collectors horns for a reason - not many were made and they are very distinctive players! Great for anything you care to play on it. It has been repadded in the not too distant past with black roo pads and it has just been fully checked and serviced - it plays great!

The palm keys are very comfortable (modern style) and the LH pinky table keys are quite comfortable and surprisingly light (older style, similar to Conn/Buescher). The construction is quite distinctive, with a two piece upper body connected with a thick collar. The extra mass here could be why these have such a distinctive tone.

It comes in a new Yamaha gig bag, however I would recommend a stronger case is a good idea.

It also comes with a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
