1959 #82,504 Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone
Stunning condition 1959 Selmer Mark VI Alto that has been fully overhauled and meticulously set up by Rob Davidson at Sax Alive. This is an amazing playing medium bow Mark VI with little wear to the pearls or mechanism. It is a relacquer, however it has been done well and carefully. The engraving is still sharp to the touch and fully visible, which means it has not been overly buffed. The lacquer is quite dark. On the key cups and a few spots on the body the lacquer is crackled and crazing in places. The neck is in perfect condition with no pull down or damage, just lacquer wear.
There is only one spot of damage on the entire horn - on the upper bow (front) near the low C# - a very small ding. There are two spots of wear on the bell, one on the underside of the bell lip from a stand I assume, and the other is a resolder to the low Bb key guard foot because of the closeness of the key to the guard was very tight, so it has been repositioned to give clearance.
This is a very rare and beautiful horn - offered in an original white selmer case. The case is solid and latches and handles work well. The interior will need some further padding out, as it has been refurbed with material only - it would be possible to have foam cut to the shape of the horn. I have padded the case out with bubble wrap for the horns safety.
This instrument comes with a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
