1960 Cavalier - Selmer SBA copy - Frosted Silverplate
This is a very interesting horn and super rare in this condition - a real closet horn gem! And its a fantastic player too!
Cavalier Tenor Saxophone, made in China in circa 1960 with frosted Silverplate body and shiny silverplated keywork. This horn is a screamer!! It has a lovely focussed tone (very Selmer like) and plays beautifully in tune all over the horn. Response is great also. It really is an amazing horn for the price and it is SO close to a holy grail Super Balanced Action, it’s really unbelievable what they were capable of 60+ years ago.
It has been setup very well and feels great under the fingers. Pads are basically brand new. I would happily take this on a gig any day! Great for any style, but particularly good for a jazz player - of all levels. This is definitely a pro players horn!
It comes with original paperwork for its purchase in 1960. Owned by a guy in Pascoe Vale and then stored for 60+ years. Some other interesting information on this receipt.
This tenor comes in a fantastic condition Hiscox shaped case. It is being sold on consignment, however because it is in such great condition, I will give it a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
