1960 Keilwerth “The New King” Tenor Saxophone - Silverplate

Stunning 1960 vintage Keilwerth “The New King” Silverplate Bb Tenor Saxophone. Featuring rolled tone holes throughout.

This is an exceptional playing horn with very friendly ergonomics, particularly for a vintage horn. These early Keilwerths have a lot of similar characteristics to early American horns (Conn, Buescher, King & Martin) - a big, fat tone with heaps of character and this one really opens up when pushed. A fantastic blues, rock, jazz, funk horn!

This instrument has no damage, just some general wear and pitting to the Silverplate. The plating is at approximately 80%, but still looks wonderful around the bell area. The neck has quite a lot of silverplating wear.

It has been fully serviced and it just received 5 new pads and the neck has been adjusted to seal well. The pre-existing pads have plenty of life left and are sealing well.

It comes in its original case in good condition, however there is very little protective cushioning inside the case, so it may need some refurbishing. The latches and handles work well however.

This saxophone also comes with a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
