1961 King Super 20 Tenor Saxophone w/ original solid silver double socket neck

This King Super 20 Tenor Saxophone from 1962 is from the series III period and has the original solid silver double socket neck.

It is playing great, with a fat, spread tone that is typical of King Super 20’s. The response throughout the horn and between registers is fast, altissimo is easy - it is a lot of fun to play! It’s perfect for jazz, blues or pop - and anything in between. The tone really is gorgeous! It is owned by one of Australia’s finest players who has decided to move on to another horn.

This instrument is in spectacular condition with no damage to note. The neck is fantastic - in all original condition also - on close inspection I noticed 4 tiny pinhead sized dings that are not easily noticeable at all. The horn has lost almost all of the lacquer on the body and it has oxidization spots. These can be removed if the buyer would like, although it isn’t necessary. I have removed the spots and cloudiness around the logo engraving to assist with photography, without any issues. The originak keywork has some nickel keywork and rods that looks great and adds strength to the mechanism too.

It has recently been serviced and is playing very well on mostly mid life pads, but has just had 4 pads replaced. This horn is an absolute classic vintage King and will excite someone looking for a big meaty toned Super 20 that is still original.

It comes in a very good condition Protec shaped zipup case. This instrument is being sold on consignment and is sold as is in pictures. It is recommended that you come and try it out!
