1980s Yamaha YAS-62 Alto Saxophone - Purple logo
An amazing condition famed Purple logo Yamaha YAS-62 professional Alto Saxophone from the late 1980s I believe. This is an exceptional horn and plays beautifully over the entire range of the horn. It was fully repadded in white Kangaroo pads a while ago and then hardly played. It has just been fully checked over and had an extensive setup and service by Rob Davidson at Sax Alive.
There is about 95% original lacquer w no major damage or trauma in the past. It should be mentioned that the logo has actually worn off the bell - these were screen printed and often just wear off with normal use! There is also a spot on the bell lip where it has been bent slightly, but has been pulled back to shape, however there is a bit of lacquer loss here and some minor corrosion. More photos on dropbox:
The sound on this beauty is immediate and full - it has excellent response and the tuning is also spot on. The setup feels really nice too; this horn would suit an advanced player to professional. Could be a lovely classical horn also.
It comes with the original Yamaha L-1 mouthpiece, ligature, cap, orig box, cork grease, orig neckstrap, pull through cloths and orig case. It also comes with a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
