1980s Yamaha YTS-62 Professional Tenor Saxophone - Purple Logo!
Awesome playing 1980s Yamaha YTS-62 "Purple logo" Professional Tenor Saxophone! The famed Yamaha purple logo's have earned their reputation over many decades - because they are such great playing resonant horns and they were built so solidly by Japan's best woodwind technicians. The proof is in the tone, ease of response, fantastic intonation and ergonomics - this makes it a great alternative to a Selmer Mark VI or SBA; at much less than half the cost!
It has a giant focussed tone (chunky!) and the altissimo on this horn pops with ease. The subtone is great too. This instrument has seen some gigs in it's life and so it has lacquer wear, some scratches and a few dings from normal use over 40 years and there are a couple of resolders that do not affect playability whatsoever, but need to be mentioned. It has just had a major service with Rob Davidson at Sax Alive and 8+ pads were replaced, so this horn is sealing perfectly. Heaps of life left in the remaining pads too.
It comes in a lovely condition 1980s Yanagisawa case which fits it perfectly and the latches are great. It also comes with a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
