1927 Conn New Wonder II Alto Saxophone - Silverplate - 100 year old horn!!

This stunning Conn New Wonder II Alto saxophone was manufactured in 1927! How they were manufacturing such spectacular saxophones 100 years ago boggles my mind!

This horn has been well looked after throughout its life and the satin silverplate is in exceptional condition, considering its age. It features a bright silverplate bell front with engraving in wonderful condition and a gold wash inside of the bell that is fading slightly, but still looks gorgeous. There is no damage to speak of, however there are a few spots of plating wear on the keyguards and a few touchpoints (particularly the thumb hook). One of the rollers on the left hand pinky table has been replaced.

It’s a fantastic player too. Really fun to play with a beautiful and complex tone with sweetness in the mid range and plenty of grunt when pushed. The low end is lush and the altissimo pings with ease. It also features rolled toneholes in great condition and the pads are like new and sealing perfectly.

This saxophone really hasn’t been played a lot, so the action feels solid and tight. The pearls are excellent also. The neck is sealing well and the microtuner mechanism has been serviced and turns smoothly.

This has just been overhauled and then more recently setup by Rob Davidson at Sax Alive.

It comes with a zipup shaped case in good condition and a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
