“Purple Logo” Yamaha YTS-62 Tenor Saxophone - awesome player!
1980s Yamaha YTS-62 “purple logo” Tenor Saxophone - made in Japan. This instrument is in spectacular condition! It has just been repadded, serviced and set up by Rob Davidson at Sax alive. A perfect horn for an advancing student or professional player.
This unique instrument has had the lacquer removed from the body and it has been finished with very fine steel wool for a matte finish and wax coated for a beautiful antique look. The keys have retained their original lacquer. There is very little damage to speak of, just a small dent on the bell lip and a few very minor scratches/bumps elsewhere that are hardly noticeable. It has an extra neckstrap ring for a specific harness height, but the original works fine for me.
This instrument plays exceptionally well over the entire range with a solid core sound that leans towards the warmer end of the tonal spectrum, but can still roar if prompted. It is super resonant and easy to play.
It comes in its original brown leather covered case in excellent condition. It also comes with a 12 month warranty on all mechanical parts and pads.
